Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the Cambodian Ophthalmological Society, I am honored to convey my warm welcome to everyone to join the 4th ASEAN Ophthalmology Society (AOS), held in conjunction with the 8th Indo-China Ocular Inflammation/Infection Meeting and the 18th Cambodian Ophthalmological Annual Congress on the 7-8th November 2019, in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Serving as a very important ophthalmology congress which has been successfully hosted in Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, Cambodia strongly believes that this 4th AOS congress will provide delegates the comprehensive scientific program covering a broad spectrum of topics in Ophthalmology field. Not only providing the opportunity to learn from each individual, this AOS congress will also provide attendees with an excellent occasion to network and to look for collaborative opportunities.

I am also excited to invite you to join The AOS Cycling for Charity which will be held on the 8th November 2019. All of the funds raised will go to Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) to help children in need.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Home of World Heritage, Siem Reap, on November 2019.

Dear friends and colleagues,

          On behalf of the ASEAN Ophthalmology Society (AOS), it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the 4th Congress of AOS to be held in Siem Reap, Cambodia from 7-8th November 2019. The AOS congress has increasingly become one of the important ophthalmology congresses that connect ophthalmologists and related health personnel in Southeast Asian region. It provides delegates a unique platform of networking, allowing them to brainstorm and tackle eye problems in this region where the problems are both the same as and different from the rest of the world.

          The congress also wants to empower our young in-training generation of ophthalmologists by providing them the great opportunity of attending international meeting of ophthalmology and making new friends from various countries for future collaboration.

          The venue for the 4th AOS congress is fantastic. Since it is located in Siem Reap, where the well-known ancient city, one of the Seven Wonders of the World in ancient time, Angkor Wat, is located. The delegates could enjoy vibrant history and discover various beauties of the ancient temples in the city, along with warm welcome form the local residents. The 4th AOS congress will be another ophthalmology congress that you will keep with fond memories.

President of Indo-China Ocular Inflammation Study Group

Dear Ophthalmologists and ophthalmology residents and fellows;

It gives me great pleasure in inviting you all to attend 8th Indo-China Ocular Inflammation/infections meeting to be held on November 8, 2019 at historic world heritage site, Siem reap, Cambodia.

The Indo-China Ocular Inflammation Study Group meeting was conceived in year 2010 in a meeting attended by Dr.  Somsiri Sukavatcharintr, Dr. Piseth Kong, organized by Professor Rao during Asia-Pacific Academy Ophthalmology meeting held in Busan, Korea, 2010. The mission of this organization was providing cutting edge and evolving diagnoses and treatment of various ocular inflammations and infections prevalent in Indo-China region. First meeting was hosted by Cambodian Ophthalmological society under the leadership of the three founders. The speakers of this meeting included global leaders in the field of uveitis and infections. The meeting was sponsored by International Ocular Inflammation Society and Australian and New Zealand Royal college of Ophthalmology, later with help from Professor Peter McCluskey. Subsequently, six such annual meetings were held in various countries in the region of Indochina, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Malaysia and Mongolia.

The meeting main goals are share with Indochina ophthalmologists the current diagnostic approaches and treatment options in ocular inflammatory diseases. The meeting included didactic lectures, case presentations and seminars on such topics as intraocular tuberculosis, evolving infections and treatments including immune-modulatory and biologicals treatments.

The 2019 Indochina meeting is developed with a focus on case based diagnosis, laboratory investigations and treatment options with comments by international experts. Ample time will be devoted for participants’ questions and answers. The participants are encouraged to bring their challenging ocular inflammation cases for presentations followed by the international experts’ comments and suggestions in diagnosis and treatment options.

The venue of the 2019 meeting, Siem Reap offers unique opportunity for participation of ophthalmologists due to its location and minimal registration fee. Several of young ophthalmologist will receive travel support for attending the meeting and such support will be provided by the International Ocular Inflammation Society and ophthalmic organizations from Australia, Thailand and Ophthalmic society of Asia.

Dr. Somsiri Sukavatcharintr in her role as executive secretary of the Indochina Ocular Inflammation Study Group has been instrumental in organizing the past 7 meetings and she will continue to serve and lead organization of 2019 meeting. As in the past meetings I will serve in the organization of the meeting by developing the educational program of the meeting with speakers who are recognized superb teachers and global leaders in the field. Dr. Paul Chan will be organizing a special meeting focusing on Retinopathy of Prematurity with invited speakers from various parts of the world.
